Founded in 1964, The Hutchison Symphony Association is the governing body of the Hutchinson Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1964 . The Hutchinson Symphony performs four Classical symphony concerts each year in Hutchinson’s Historic Fox Theater.
In addition to our regular season concerts, members of the orchestra also visit ten Hutchinson area elementary schools each fall, over a period of two days, to perform School Swing concerts. School Swing concerts are live, 30 minute, orchestral concerts of child appropriate music attended by a total of 3,000 young people each year. We hope this experience encourages the students to learn to enjoy this type of music all their lives, and for some of them to learn to play an instrument. The children are from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds so for many of them, these concerts may be the only opportunity they ever have to experience live, orchestral concerts.
